Types of cheques

There are two main types of commercial documents available to the client:

  • Fiscal cheque printed by a fiscal memory device;
  • A free-form cheque conforming to good economic practices.

[en.microinvest.net Microinvest]'s products allow the usage of both types of cheques, leaving the option of selecting the document type to the users. It is also important to note the need to ensure proper collateral for issuing the relevant document. An example is the presence of a fiscal printer that provides fiscal checks and contains the appropriate certified components for storing financial transactions.

Types of printers

Depending on the type and purpose, printers are divided into:

  • Fiscal printers. These devices are certified in the respective country and can issue valid fiscal cheques. They have built-in memory and keep the issued documents. Typically, they can also print non-fiscal cheques with arbitrary content, such as bar or kitchen orders;
  • Standard printers. In standard printers, there are no memory modules installed, and they print any document type and content. Generally, they are universal and can be managed through a scripting system.

In most cases, there is a fiscal and kitchen printer at the same time in the same system. This allows to separate orders and fiscal documents, to distribute internal documents, and even print reports on the printer. Standard printers are often referred to as POS printers or Kitchen printers. In all cases, these are the same type of devices without built-in fiscal memory.

Cheque distribution on Printers

Distribution of documents on the respective printers is subject to certain rules:

  • The fiscal printer can print a fiscal cheque and a business cheque. Both types of documents are subject to regulatory requirements and have a predefined design. The fiscal cheque reflects a financial transaction, while the business cheque is just a document of free content but subject to a restrictive norm in its design.
  • The standard printer is capable of recreating any document. He has the possibility of individual design of the printed form and placing of requisites at the clients' request.

Scripting system

Microinvest Warehouse Pro Light offers a special scripting system for creating and describing the printed form of documents. Depending on the capabilities of the printer, a system of code words called a script can be arranged in different documents in form and content. This technology allows the creation of individual documents according to the wishes of a particular client.

Keyboard shortcuts

Microinvest’s products have special keyboard shortcuts for sending a specific document to a particular printer, as well as printing a fiscal or business cheque on the same printer. The setting of such functionality is performed by a specialist and requires a very high qualification of the consultant. Key combinations are set to handle individual cases, and in most situations, the action of the product does not depend on the type of cheque. For example, a sale may end with any of the following documents:

  • Fiscal cheque of a fiscal printer;
  • Business cheque of a fiscal printer;
  • Random cheque of a POS printer.

The type of document is not relevant for the delivery of the items, it is only a printed presentation of the final result.

Important

The issuance of a certain type of cheque must comply with local legislation and tax principles. Despite its tremendous document management capabilities, responsibility for complying with regulatory requirements is entirely up to the user and is in no way controlled by the functions of the software product. It is a good idea to set the product to meet all tax conditions and to be protected by properly selected and established operator access rights.
